If you've been to Africa and ready for some more, or want to experience an Africa that is still untamed, let us take you to Botswana. We have been scouting Botswana over the last few years so that we can take wildlife enthusiasts to a place that is otherwise quite out of reach for most.
The Okavango delta where a river empties itself right into the heart of Botswana is like no other place on earth. The elephants you come across in close proximity will take your breath away!
This is what our expedition looks like:
Day 1 Sunday - Arrival at Maun
On Saturday you fly to Johannesburg and on Sunday morning take a short flight to Maun. Maun is where the Botswana adventure begins! Night stay at a friendly camp next to the Thamalakane river.
Day 2 Monday - Okavanga Delta
Head to the Okavanga Delta for a Mokoro ride to one of the islands in the delta. The original mokoros were made of a single piece of ebony. Glide along the hippos to reach your camp. Night stay is at a camp set up exclusively for you on the island.
Day 3 Tuesday - Okavanga Delta
You go on a walking safari in the Okavanga delta with chances to see zebras, giraffe and hippos. In the late afternoon you take another mokoro ride back to the base of the Okavanga delta journey from where you are driven to the camp in Maun. Night stay at the camp in Maun.
Day 4 Wednesday - Head to Khwai Concession
Head to Khwai Concession which is a community-run initiative next to Moremi Game reserve. On the way to the Khwai concession we pass through prime elephant habitat and you are sure to come across elephants sharing th road. Night at a boutique lodge.
Day 5,6 Thursday,Friday - Khwai Concession
You shall get to go for safaris along the Khwai River, which is the northernmost "finger" of the delta and is the main life source for the Khwai cocession. The woodland and the savannahs provide lush habitat for a wide variety of wildlife.
Day 7 Saturday - Head to Maun
After another morning safari, you shall head back to Maun, encountering more elephants on the way. Night at camp in Maun.
Day 8 Sunday - Departure from Maun to Johannesburg and onwards
You can catch your flight back home or head to your next destination in Africa on Sunday.
