Beyond the Tiger - An Exploratory Expedition
Dates: December 4th Friday to Dec 13th Sunday, 2015
March 25th Friday to April 3rd Sunday, 2016
Custom Dates also available. We invite you to experience the wildlife and amazing bio-diversity of the forests of India - From the wild elephants, gaur and big cats to the flying lizard that is supposed to be the link species between reptiles and birds. You will also get to see the beautiful hornbills while experiencing some hospitality of a local village situated within the forest.
This is what our expedition plan looks like:
Friday: Arrival/Pickup at Bangalore International Airport. Departure to UttaraKannada.
We pick you up from the airport and you spend the day relaxing in Bangalore. In the evening we take a short flight to Hubli and then are driven to the forest lodge in Dandeli.
Saturday-Tuesday - Uttara Kannada/Western Ghats This place is a bio-diversity treasure trove, in the western Ghats. Here you may have the opportunity to see rare melonistic leopard - the black panther. The forest here has Nilgiri langur, leopard (Panther), common palm civet, sloth bear, flying squirrel, malabar gaint squirrel and many many species of birds and reptiles.

Among birds, if you are lucky you may get to see the rare Great Indian Hornbill, the largest of the hornbills! Other birds found here include pied hornbill, Malabar hornbill, Serpent Eagle, Shama, Scarlet minivets, Emerald pigoen, Malabar Trogan, Flameback Woodpecker and many many more

On Tuesday evening we fly back to Bangalore and then head to our next destination on Wednesday morning by train(Ist AC).
Wednesday - Saturday: Nagarhole Forest, Kabini
We head to one of the most amazing nature reserves in India where you can find herds of elephant at the grassy riverbank of the Kabini river and may find blossom headed parakeets screeching overhead while we are cruising the jungles.

We spend three nights here. We go for jeep safaris and nature treks with our naturalist who talks about various birds, trees and plants, animals - big and small. While everyone is out looking for the tiger, we believe all creatures, big or small are unique and important in their own right. We soak in the sights and sounds of the jungle. We relax in the evening with other folks in the group sharing our experiences.
We head back on Saturday to Bangalore and get back to Bangalore by the evening. Sunday: Departure
Catch your flight back home or head to your next destination on Sunday.
